We are a community of friends & teachers

Yoga at Space is an independent, community-oriented studio located in the northwestern corner of Connecticut. We offer morning, evening, and weekend classes for students of all levels. Our classes are non-competitive, breath-centered inquiries into the experience of embodiment, incorporating alignment principles for safety and clarity, and meditative focus for centering and grounding. The Yoga we offer is influenced by Embodyoga®, classical Yoga practices and philosophy, plus modern mind-body research. All of our teachers are highly trained and committed professionals with many years of teaching experience.

Eleanor Miller, RYT, is a Holistic Nurse, Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, and Integrated Awareness Teacher. She believes the challenge of Yoga is to use the breath as a vehicle to harness the mind and dive deep within the body. Yoga has allowed her wisdom and truth to emerge and brought ease into her life, and she delights in sharing Yoga with others. Eleanor is especially gifted with breath work and gentle Yoga, as well as the practice of Yoga Nidra, a deep guided relaxation technique.

Dr. Anju Taneja, RYT 200, earned her Yoga Teacher Certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and is pursuing further studies in the field of Ayurveda. Born and educated in India, Anju’s personal practice includes pranayama, meditation, asanas, and mindful eating. Anju is currently a faculty member at the Hotchkiss School as Instructor of Physics, and also coaches tennis, volleyball, and basketball. A classroom teacher for almost three decades with an extensive educational background and fieldwork in the sciences, Anju plans to focus her Yoga classes on alignment for strength, stability, and balance. Her philosophy for Yoga practice is that kind acceptance of oneself transcends into compassion for others, alleviates stress, and eventually leads to wellness.
